Mom and son released from IDC.
A mom and son who were “trapped” since December 27, 2023 at Immigration Detention Center (IDC) days after celebrating Christmas, with the brothers and sisters who serve at Calvary International Baptist Church, we regularly visited them on Thursdays. Two weeks ago, their family was able to raise enough money to get them released on bail and the retainers for Thai lawyers. For two weeks the paperwork was being processed and they were forced to continue to live in horrible conditions. Last Thursday, on the 25th, as we were visiting them, certain “fees” were paid by a family member to expedite the approval of release. When mom and son were told they would be released that day, the expressions of joy in their eyes will be something I will remember for the rest of my life.
We waited for over an hour outside IDC to embrace them without the fences that had separated us during our visits. Once outside, the son said something we take for granted, “The sun is so bright and warm, we have not felt it in a long time.” Please help donate funds to us, we can bring more food, clothing and toiletries the “trapped” desperately need.
