Children’s Christian workbooks in Thailand.
There are many bookstores in and around the City of Bangkok. I have visited some of the largest and many neighborhood stores to see what was available for purchase for Christian literature. It is truly a sad experience when not one book is available to purchase, not even the Word of God, the best selling book of all time. Chulalongkorn University is the most prestigious facility of higher learning in Thailand and their bookstore is among the largest, unfortunately I found only one Bible and one unexceptional book about Christianity. Kinokuniya Bookstore is the largest bookstore chain in Thailand, they do not readily stock Thai Bibles at their locations and are very expensive to purchase for the average Thai person where the monthly average income is a little over $231 and the demand is very low. A quality Thai language Bible is $50. because most are published and imported due to technical difficulties of publishers who are ill equipped to print on thin gage paper in country.
To purchase books about Christianity in person is not an easy task, the handful of Christian bookstores are located in out of the way places in Bangkok. When touring Christian bookstores, the selection is limited in depth and breath of selection. There will be less than a handful of books available for the subject you may be interested in or searching for, the children’s and Bible sections are particularly sparse. Most of the stores will only have five to twenty five children’s books to choose from and they would have been published eight plus years ago. The lowest price Thai Bible is about $18 but the translation uses words that Thai people no longer use or hard to understand.
