Our Story

We thank, honor and give glory only to God for He provided us more than our daily providence and the talents to work hard with determination and initiative. My wife and I were living the “American Dream” in Los Angeles, for we owned a very nice home in a fine neighborhood, our son and daughter are healthy and educated, and we owned a successful small business. We were eager and willing volunteers and donated to many causes within our faith and church, yet deep in our hearts placed there by God, we had a yearning desire to serve in overseas missions.

One fateful morning at home in October 2019 while my wife was serving with our church’s mission team in Thailand and Laos, I suffered a heart attack where the left ventricle artery was completely blocked. When the doctor asked me, “How do you like being alive? You should not be.” As he wheeled me out of the operating room, I could not answer, except to deeply reflect and contemplate life questions we all must ask ourselves, the answers are in our Holy Bible:

  1. Where do I come from?
“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” Colossians 1:16-17.
  2. Who am I?
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
  3. Why am I here?
“…bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:6-7.
  4. How should I live?
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20.
  5. Where am I going?
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4.

We come from God and are created for Jesus. I am his workmanship to do good. I am here for God’s glory. I should live as Christ lives in me in faith. I am going to my Father’s house in heaven. Jesus in Matthew 22:34-40 says it best, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

To spread the deep joy of Christ in our hearts and serve overseas to reveal the truth of Christ to the unreached, to do the will of God here on earth as it is in heaven is the principal ethos of TGC Foundation.
